Care for your fur

  • Hang your fur on a contoured hanger to protect its shape and fit.
  • Never use chemical mothproof sprays, mothballs, or cedar chips.
  • If your fur gets wet, shake it out and hang it to dry in a well-ventilated room.
  • Avoid leaving your fur hanging in a bright place; the light can oxidate the fur.
  • Keep your fur away from direct heat, such as a blow dryer or a radiator, which can cause both fur and leather to dry out.
  • Give your fur enough room in the closet so that it doesn't get crushed.
  • Never keep your fur in a plastic bag; plastic prevents air from circulating and can dry out the leather.
  • When traveling, store your fur in a deluxe garment bag.
  • Never pin jewelry to your fur.
  • Shoulder bags and seatbelts can rub your fur and break off guard hairs. Ask about a shoulder guard.
  • Avoid spraying perfume or hair-spray on yourself immediately before slipping on your coat.
