The Cultural Services of the French Embassy support young film creation from France with the short film: Un jour de lucidité (A Day of Lucidity) by French filmmakers Sarah Barbault and Emilie Barbault.
On April 17, this film will be screened as part of the Northern Virginia International Film Festival (NOVA Filmfest), which runs from April 13 to April 19 at the Angelika Film Center.
This 2014 film tells the story of Lucie, a thirty-year-old graphic designer who, since her boyfriend left her, has been disconnected from her own life since. She feels uneasy and out of sorts, until her day of lucidity arrives.
Un jour de lucidité is nominated by NOVA as Best Foreign Short Film and for Best Art & Design, Alysson Paradis is nominated as Best Actress Short Film, and filmmakers Sarah and Emilie Barbault are nominated as Best Director Short Film.
