ALLIANCE FRANCAISE's FASHION SHOW
"BEYOND THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS"
MARK YOUR CALENDARS for an exceptional event on Friday, September 25!
The Alliance Française de Washington is renewing with tradition by holding its first fashion show in 45 years with a twist. "Beyond The Little Black Dress" reconnects the AFDC's prestigious past with the 21st century by combining tradition and modernity, focusing on the diversity of fashion beyond the clichés and highlighting women as emerging talents of both France and the US.
In the late 1960s, the Alliance Française de Washington held prestigious events that showcased exquisite designs from famous Haute-Couture houses such as DIOR, GIVENCHYand YSL. H.E Ambassador of France Guy Lucet and Madame Lucet were at the helm of these magnificent evenings and défilés; socialites and the local press raved about it. In the last ten years, Washington DC has seen a revival of interest for fashion beyond the customary K Street business attire with bi-annual fashion weeks.
"Beyond The Little Black Dress" brings the best of both worlds to the Nation's Capital and shows that Style and Talent are alive on both sides of the Atantic, France and the US.
The event will be held at one of Washington DC's trendiest hotels, The Dupont Circle Hotel, in their renovated space. The Dupont Circle Hotel is partnering with Alliance Française de Washington DC to bring you what will become the most memorable event of the AFDC's Fall cultural season, on Friday, September 25.
Over the next couple of months, the AFDC's Thursday newsletter will bring you more news about this event, including a presentation of the designers, fashion photographer, make-up artist and other VIPS who will be participating in the event. Be sure to read it!
A bientôt!
