POWER AND PATHOS
Bronze Sculpture of the Hellenistic World
This exhibition will feature works from world-renowned archaeological museums from different countries. More than one-third of the sculptures belong to cultural institutions in Italy. Power and Pathos, the first comprehensive monograph on large-scale Hellenistic bronze sculpture that counts 18 loans from outstanding Italian Museums, explores this unique role of bronze as a medium of prestige and artistic innovation. The exhibition, with different loans, was on display first at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence and then at Getty Center in Los Angeles.
