Welcome the New Year with Salute to Vienna! By high demand, The Music Center at Strathmore welcomes back this beloved concert! Party like it’s 1899 in Vienna, the city of dreams! Celebrate the start of the New Year with an all-star cast of European singers, dancers, and full orchestra. Be swept away by the romance of Strauss waltzes – including the Blue Danube, and melodies from operettas. Enjoy a star-studded European cast of singers, beautifully costumed dancers and the Strauss Symphony of America, conducted by Viennese conductor Matthias Fletzberger. Soprano Natalia Ushakova (Vienna) and New York tenor Brian Cheney will perform with members of the exquisite Europaballett St.Pölten (Austria) and International Champion Ballroom Dancers. CONCERT | Eine Nacht in Wien (Viennese New Year Concert)

For the first time New York Opera Society (NYOS) welcome the New Year with a concert in Viennese style. Eine Nacht in Wien features uplifting melodies from famous operettas including Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow and A Night in Venice. Modeled after the original Neujahrskonzert in Austria’s capital city Vienna, the show’s program features NYOS Piano Quartet, various singers from and costumed dancers, who bring those tunes to life.

CONCERT | Merlin Ensemble Wien

The Merlin Ensemble Wien was founded in 1991. This circle of musicians around the "Chamber Orchestra of Europe" has the aim to combine chamber music programs and music-dramatic projects with german speaking actors like Hermann Beil, Peter Matic, Martin Schwab, Karl Markowics and Ulrich Matthes, on the highest level. The Merlin Ensemble Wien was guests of festivals and concerthouses such as Salzburg Festival, Lucerne Festival, Beethovenfest Bonn, Musikfest Bremen, Musikverein und Konzerthaus Wien, Arnold Schoenberg Center Vienna, Morgan Library New York, Carinthian Summmer, Berliner Ensemble, Opera Leipzig, NDR Hannover, Teatro Fenice, Teatro Comunale Bologna and Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, Austrian Cultural Forum in New York and Washington and many others.
