READING AND DISCUSSION | Zeitgeist DC: Contemporary Voices:
Christopher Kloeble, Xaver Bayer, and Pedro Lenz
The Austrian Cultural Forum, in coordination with Zeitgeist DC, would like to present an evening dedicated to emerging authors in contemporary German literature.
Among the authors is Christopher Kloeble (Germany), for whom this reading is his US debut. His novel is a sensitive and dramatic family saga and a page-turner titled: "Almost Everything is Fast". Kloeble is an award-winning German novelist and scriptwriter. "Almost Everything is Fast" is his third book, and his first to be published in English.
The second voice, Xaver Bayer (Austria) will read from "Furtive Rustling from the Magic Kingdom and Dinner". Bayer is an observing artist who awakens the world around us. He founded the one of the first digital literature collectives, and wrote many novels, stories and theater pieces.
Pedro Lenz (Switzerland) will read from "Naw Much of a Talker", an acclaimed, award-winning comic novel about truth, lies and storytelling, with an unforgettable and unreliable narrator. Lenz is not only a writer, but also a poet and newspaper columnist.
All excerpts will be read in both German and English, however, the writers will introduce and discuss their work in English.
