Opening Night Exhibition and Artist Conversation
Friday 16th at 7:00pm
This exhibition explores the field of contemporary video art production in Ireland today. It is the first significant survey of Irish visual art to be presented in the Washington DC area.
Opening night will feature curator, artist and Solas Nua board member, Jackie Hoysted in conversation with Andy Johnson of the Corcoran College of Art and artist, Jonah King.
The vision for this exhibition was to discover what Irish visual artists considered video art to be today and what they wanted to communicate through their work.
The exhibit features rarely seen footage of Skellig Michael rock, a UNESCO world heritage site and Luke Skywalker's hideaway in the recent Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
