The first film in the Sissi Trilogy follows the early life of princess Elisabeth of Bavaria as she enters into the extravagant world of royalty. The film begins with Sissi traveling from Possenhofen Castle to Bad Ischl, Austria, with her comical mother and demure sister. This sends Sissi into a hurricane of conflict -- will Sissi’s loyalty to her sister win out over her love for Franz Joseph?
