On October 12, the Guggenheim Museum unveils an extensive exhibition and survey of Swedish artist Hilma af Klint’s paintings from her breakthrough years, 1906–1920. Hilma af Klint: Pairings for the Future is the first major solo exhibition in the United States devoted to the abstract pioneer. The exhibition will be featured until February 3, 2019, and is a collaboration with the Hilma af Klint Foundation.

Swedish contemporary circus group Cirkus Cirkör and Swedish opera company Folkoperan interpret Philip Glass’ operatic account of Mahatma Gandhi’s experiments with civil obedience in South Africa. “Satyagraha” has already garnered rave reviews in Sweden and can be experienced at Brooklyn Academy of Music.
