JOÃO CAMARERO - Guitar
Born in São Paulo in 1990, João Camarero began his studies in music at the
age of eight and the guitar at fifteen. He studied at the “Conservatory of
Tatuí” and at the “Escola Portátil de Música” of Rio de Janeiro, where he
currently teaches. Winner of several prizes, such as the 2015 MIMO
Instrumental 2015 Award and the Concurso Novas, Camarero has been
nominated one of Brazil's best musicians of 2016. He has performed in many
countries and has been considered one of the most sought-after guitar
players for his versatility.
JOÃO LUIZ - Guitar
Born in Brazil, guitarist, educator and composer, João Luiz is equally at
home with classical and world music. He is a two time Latin Grammy nominee
and Winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition (2006). João has
performed extensively in the U.S, Asia, Europe and Latin America, having
played alongside Yo-Yo Ma and Carlos Prieto in Cuba. He is currently the
director of chamber music at CUNY Hunter College and also teaches guitar
at Stony Brook.
