For more than 50 years, Edmund Burke School has provided progressive education in an egalitarian learning environment. Known for its small class sizes and experienced faculty, Burke enrolls 300+ students in Grades 6-12.

Since our school’s founding in 1968, we have cultivated a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. Burke is a place where young people build the knowledge, skills, and power to effect positive change in their communities – and in the wider world.

At Burke, we provide a supportive environment where students are well known and valued by their teachers; where the bonds among parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and students are meaningful and long-lasting; where academic standards are both high and specific to each individual; and where students develop as responsible citizens and independent thinkers.

At Burke, our curriculum builds mathematical thinking, scientific reasoning, artistic expression, and creative problem solving. In the classroom and beyond, students sharpen their critical faculties, analytical reasoning skills, and research and writing capacities.

At Burke, we foster a culture of equity and inclusion, continuously working to understand and embrace diversity, including age, ability, ethnicity, family structure, gender, gender identity, political perspectives, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

At Burke, students develop moral reasoning, a sense of responsibility and consciousness that informs their obligation to do good and to seek justice in this world.

We invite you to visit Burke and experience our community. We look forward to welcoming you.
