Join us for a screening of the documentary “The Writer in the Trees,” followed by a Q&A session with director Duccio Chiarini. This event is presented by the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Italo Calvino, one of the most significant Italian writers of the 20th century.
The documentary, which premiered at the Giornata degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival in August 2023, provides a fresh look and a unique perspective on the relationship between Italo Calvino’s work and his own times, analyzed through the lens of his novel, “The Baron in the Trees” (“Il Barone Rampante”, 1957).
