The opening event of the “Peperoncino Jazz Festival >< New York Session” Third Edition, will be held at the highly prestigious Italian Cultural Institute, a place dedicated to the enhancement and promotion of Italian culture in the United States.
Four-time Grammy Award winning bassist, John Patitucci, will present a solo bass concert at the Institute. Mr. Patitucci has performed and/or recorded with jazz giants such as Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and countless others.
He has released over 17 recordings as a leader and recently signed a recording contract with Edition Records, with his next release scheduled for 2025.
The Peperoncino Jazz Festival has had a very close relationship with Mr. Patitucci for many years. The Festival was the first to promote a Soul of the Bass tour in Italy shortly after the release of this recording.
This concert will feature the sounds and colors of the double bass and the 6-string electric bass played by Mr. Patitucci in an intimate setting where the audience can be close enough to experiene the many sides of this internationally renowned jazz artist.
