Experience the lighter side of living in Berlin in 1948/1949. While the world was holding its breath to see how this showdown between the Western Allies and the Soviet Union would play out, entertainment in the form of music and dancing, provided much-needed distraction and fun. Live had to go on, and in Berlin, which was always a fun-loving city, it certainly did.
Join us on Friday, June 21 from 6:30 to 9 pm for a swing dance lesson with dance teachers Cherisse and Richard Blachford followed by an opportunity to practice your moves on our floating bamboo floor. We will provide water, punch (with alcohol), and German pretzels with butter and dip.
Vintage attire suitable for dancing and moving about is encouraged. You do not need a dance partner to attend. Put on your dancing shoes, and swing away to popular tunes from the 1940s.
